Get Some Fresh Air!

Finding a place to stretch your legs and get some fresh air can feel pretty tricky after several months indoors, but sunshine and movement are crucial to keeping your mood up during these winter months. Now that the temperatures are increasing, and we have more daylight hours each day, you will feel a noticeable difference if you get out and explore! We are so fortunate to live in an area that has several beautiful bike trails, walking paths, and lakes and ponds to explore.

If you're looking for a place to stretch your legs, the Feeder Canal Heritage Trail is an excellent local choice!

The trail meets up with the Warren County Bikeway. The Feeder Canal Trail begins at the Feeder Dam in Glens Falls and follows the Hudson River to the Champlain Canal and then south toward Fort Edward. The trail isn't a paved road, but the trail is smooth and defined by it's graveled path, perfect for walking and biking. The trail is about nine miles long and follows part of New York's few remaining sections of the original 1820s canal system.

As always, be sure to venture out with a buddy, bring water and appropriate clothes for the weather, and stay on the trail!
