Fundraising Goal: ProForm Carbon HIIT 7

Recreation is a vital part of the youth center; it’s what initially draws kids inside our doors. We have a workout area full of weight lifting machines, cardio machines, and hand weights, but we are always striving to update our offerings. Recreation provides kids with a great outlet to unleash stress and anger as well give mental clarity and relaxation- keys to unlocking a more prosperous future.

For 2022 we are hoping to raise the funds to acquire some new pieces of recreational equipment to keep our kids engaged and excited! This month we have been highlighting some of our dream pieces of equipment, like the Ergatta Rower and two NordicTrack s22i stationary bikes. This week we are featuring the next piece of recreational equipment we are striving for-- the ProForm Carbon Hiit H7!

The Carbon Hiit H7 is in the elliptical family, but acts more like a stair stepper. This type of machine is perfect for the YC because it’s compact, and space is something we always need with the amount of children we serve. The stair stepper movement will also provide a totally unique type of workout. HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training, is a training technique that involves repetitively giving 100% effort for a set amount of time followed by short recovery periods. You’ll get and keep your heart rate up, burning more calories, and building strength throughout your workout. Many of our members might not have time, or might not have an interest in lengthy workouts, so this HIIT type workout will allow them to exercise more efficiently.

We are looking to raise $1,400 to purchase the ProForm Carbon Hiit H7. Just like the NordicTrack s22i’s we are looking for, the Carbon HiitH 7 includes iFit software which has STEAM based elements that will have kids utilizing technology while exercising. The iFIt software will allow our members to stream classes and access personal training opportunities. Again, we are committed to advocating for the best of the best for the kids.
