Fundraising Goal: Ergatta Rower!

In the fall we sit down as a director duo and discuss our youth center goals for the upcoming year. These include educational goals, fundraising goals, and any improvements or enhancements we can make to our programming and facility!

Recreation is a vital part of the youth center; it’s what initially draws kids inside our doors. We have a workout area full of weight lifting machines, cardio machines, and hand weights, but we are always striving to update our offerings. Recreation provides kids with a great outlet to unleash stress and anger as well give mental clarity and relaxation- keys to unlocking a more prosperous future.

For 2022 we are hoping to raise the funds to acquire some new pieces of recreational equipment to keep our kids engaged and excited— the first item being an Ergatta Rower!

Ergatta’s gaming inspired content experience could change the way many kids feel about fitness. The high-def touch screen will allow our kids to immerse themselves in a digital experience; there are races, interval workouts, as well as open and scenic rows where kids can be transported to beautiful destinations and feel like they are rowing there for real. The rower uses water within the machine, so it works all of your senses as you actually hear the rush of “waves” as you row. This handmade rower, crafted out of American cherry wood is built to last, which is quite helpful for an organization like the Youth Center. The best part? This machine stores in the space of a stool, can be easily wheeled to a new room, and engages in seconds.

A rowing machine is different from anything we currently have at the youth center. It is a low impact full-body workout that includes STEAM based elements by allowing them to utilize technology while exercising. We are looking to raise the funds to purchase one rower, approximately $2,200. Many of our members don’t have access to high quality exercise and technology equipment, so we are committed to advocating for the best of the best for them.
