Scholarship Night 2017:

The Youth Center held our 10th annual scholarship night on June 15th.  This year’s event featured the musical talents of Jacob Harmon(flutist); who kicked off the celebration with his rendition of “Pomp and Circumstance.”  Former Youth Center members Tim Diamond (YC class of 1987), and Matt Nelson (YC alum 1988) discussed their life journeys, what the center means to them, and provided words of encouragement to our current membership.

This year’s scholarship winners are Zack Duckett ($1,000).  Zack is attending ACC and will earn his Associates Degree this year (Business).  Adam Thung earned a $5,000 gift in order to help finance his senior year at SUNY Plattsburg.  He will receive an Art degree next May.  Congratulations gentlemen, we are proud of you!!

Jacob Harmon, a current member of the youth center and a 9th grader at Glens Falls High School, attended the National Catholic Forensic League debate tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, F.L this past weekend.  He competed in the “extemporaneous” category along with 25 other teammates in the Albany area.
